Mobility and Accessibility

In an Alpine-Mediterranean region with myriad sports and leisure facilities, a well-functioning transportation system is of the utmost importance.

The holiday region of Avelengo –Verano – Merano 2000 is easily and quickly accessible from the spa town of Merano via car, bus, and a number of different ropeways. The new cable car, for example, takes visitors from Merano–Naif to Merano 2000 in just a few minutes. A lift whisks you up to the Avelengo/Falzeben Summit Station from Avelengo and Verano.

If you don’t want to drive up yourself, you can also reach Avelengo, Verano and even Falzeben via bus, aboard the Merano – Avelengo – Falzeben/Verano Line. The Monzoccolo/Tschögglberg Line connects the villages of Avelengo, Verano, Meltina, and San Genesio Atesino/Jenesien.

In winter, there is also a ski-bus service running from Avelengo to Falzeben.

Lifts in Winter

In addition to the Merano 2000 Cable Car, which opened in December 2010 and runs from Merano-Naif to Piffing, the family ski area also has the Falzeben lift, which is structurally similar to a cable car, five chairlifts, and three magic carpets in the beginner ski area. With a capacity of 10,000 people per hour, queues at the lifts are a thing of the past—even in winter.

Tickets and Discounts

The holiday region offers a number of advantage cards that allow visitors to benefit from all the transportation options in the area—at very attractive prices.
