Five Michelin-star chefs, three castles, fifteen huts and five guided hikes - this are the ingredients for the Gourmet-Event "Stars Castles Mountains". The highlight extends from May to September and combines exquisite cuisine, fine wines and fantastic locations for a total experience.
The highlights of this year’s event include gala dinners to be held at different historic castles in Merano and Environs, where Michelin-star chefs will treat guests to innovative dishes created from traditional South Tyrolean local products
In addition to the gala evenings, visitors will also have the opportunity to taste dishes prepared according to the strict specifications of Michelin-awarded star chefs at certain Alpine huts. These gourmet dishes will be integrated within the traditional menu offerings of the various Alpine huts. Moreover, all guests who order one of these specially-designed meals can also request the recipe from the chef in order to prepare it again at home.
Restaurant Waldbichl is situated on the sunny plateau on 1500m and offers a panoramic view on the surrounding mountains. In the kitchen the family Laner has specialized in the genuine products of the place, to propose to the table what Mother Nature provides the house.
Restaurant Waldbichl participates with a recipe from Anna Matscher, star cook of Restaurant Zum Löwen at Tesimo.
The participating Michelin-star chefs will invite guests to join them on guided hikes up to the hut, where cooks will treat them to specially prepared dishes created by the chefs.
The panoramic hike to Restaurant Waldbichl is held on the 16th July 2013
The Mittager Alpine hut is situated on Merano 2000, in a height of 2260m, from it's terrace you'll have a beautiful view on the moutains and the Dolomites. In this beautiful setting you can taste the delicacies and specialties of the host Markus Göller.
Togeher with star cook Andrea Fenoglio from the Restaurant Sissi in Merano, the Mittager Alpine hut participates at the event.
