The Monzoccolo Plateau around Avelengo – Verano - Merano 2000 offers an extensive network of trails for hikers and mountain bikers.
The options range from easy trails with a light grade up to single tracks above the timberline. Some of the area’s hiking trails across Alpine pastures and through forests are also suited to mountain biking.
The steeper routes lead up to above the timberline, while the flatter, less strenuous routes run along unspoiled Alpine pastures. They offer spectacular outlook points with stunning far-reaching views of the surrounding valleys and mountain peaks.
Mountain bikers can reach the plateau by car or via the Merano 2000 Cable Car, the cable car running from Postal to Verano covered enless-rope cableway from running from Falzeben to Piffing/Meran 2000—a final option, of course, is by bike.
Please note: without exception, hikers have the right of way.
You can rent a mountain bike from your host or at Christoph’s Bike Academy in Scena.
