The expansive plateau is a popular destination for day trips and is easily accessible from the nearby towns of Merano, Tirolo/Dorf Tirol, Scena/Schenna and Lana. Even a short hike often affords breathtaking panoramas ranging from the Texel Mountains and the Ötztal Alps all the way to the Ortler Massif in the west, and from the unique peaks of the Dolomites to the Gruppo del Brenta Mountains in the south.
